Beginners Silver Jewellery

5 Week Evening Course (1 evening per week for 5 weeks)

Outline: The aim of this course is to give you the opportunity to make jewellery that you can take home and wear with pride. Whilst making each piece you will learn various jewellery making skills and after five weeks you will have a good foundation of skills. The course is also a great environment to develop your creativity and do something fun with like-minded people.

You will learn

• soldering, shaping, cutting, texturing metal, polishing
• how to make jump rings from wire
• how to make earring hooks and clasps

You will make

• Silver earrings
• Silver pendant with jump ring
• Silver ring / pendant
• Silver bracelet

Tools: You will lean to use a piercing saw, soldering torch, mandrills, doming punches, files, metal and rawhide hammers and rolling mill.

Suitable for: those with no previous experience and a great taster for those taking their first steps into a creative field.

Beginners Silver Jewellery

1 Day Saturday Class

Outline: This class is similar to the 5 week Beginners Silver Jewellery Course but would suit those who are not able to commit to 5 evenings. Since this class has fewer hours available, there isn't time to make jump rings and there is less time to practice the skills. However, on the day you will make a pair of earrings and a decorative ring.

You will learn

• soldering, shaping, cutting, texturing metal, polishing
• how to make earring hooks and clasps

You will make

• Silver earrings
• Silver ring

Suitable for: those with no previous experience and a great taster for those taking their first steps into a creative field.
