If you are looking for a new hobby or to take up jewellery making as a profession, this course is designed to give you a broad understanding of the materials and processes used for creating contemporary jewellery.
This one-week intensive course is designed to teach you all the basic skills and techniques and build your confidence in jewellery making. You will learn cutting, filing, polishing and soldering to create jewellery pieces in silver and other materials. Throughout the week there will be several short projects covering a range of design and making skills and you will have the opportunity to apply your skills and create pieces that reflect your style.
During the 5 days you will make a selection of pieces including a pair of earrings, a pendant, a bracelet, a ring with a stone setting.
You will learn: jewellery techniques such as soldering, shaping, cutting, texturing metal and making findings.The course is held in a fully equipped jewellery studio and you will learn how to use a variety of jewellery tools.
Suitable for: those with no previous experience wishing to learn a new hobby or thinking about embarking upon a new career in jewellery.
