Wax Carving for Silver Jewellery

5 Week Evening Course

This course offers an introduction to the technique of lost-wax casting in jewellery making. You will design your own pieces of jewellery and learn how to have them cast in silver using this technique. The process involves making a model of your jewellery design by carving a piece of wax. The wax model will be sent away between classes to be cast in silver, and on the next week your design will have been reproduced in solid silver, ready for you to finish. During the five weeks of the course you will be able to make several pieces and become proficient in this method of jewellery making. You can make almost any type of jewellery using this technique and with assistance from the tutor you will develop your own designs into high quality silver jewellery. This type of jewellery making can easily be continued at home and this course will teach you all that is needed to get started.

This course is ideal for beginners. The process is actually very simple and is a very effective way of quickly creating silver jewellery.
