Wax Carving for Silver Jewellery Course

1 Day Class

On the 1 day wax carving class you will learn how to carve wax for use in lost wax casting of jewellery. You will learn to use a variety of wax carving tools and finish the day with jewellery pieces ready to be cast. You will be given an instruction pack with information on casters who can cast your wax in silver and how to finish your silver pieces once returned from the casters.

You will learn

• How the wax casting process works
• How to create designs for wax carving
• How to carve from a block of jewellery wax

You will make:

• several wax samples
• a wax ring reading to be cast in silver

Materials: The course fee includes all materials except for your castings. The cost of the castings will vary depending on the weight and silver price but a simple ring would cost about £15.
