Jewellery Summer School

During the summer we offer one week long intensive daytime courses. These courses are suitable for beginners and enable you to make a lot of progress in just one week.

The syllabus for this course combines the subjects covered in the Beginners and Intermediate 5 week evening courses that we offer.

Outline: The aim of this course is to give you the opportunity to make jewellery that you can take home and wear with pride. Whilst making each piece you will learn various jewellery making techniques and by the end of the week you will have a good foundation of skills. The course is also a great environment to develop your creativity and do something fun with like-minded people.

You will learn:

• Soldering, shaping, cutting & texturing metal
• Polishing & Finishing
• Making jump rings from wire
• Making earring hooks and clasps
• How to make bezels
• How to set cabochon stones
• How to solder complicated shapes
• How to construct a hollow form using a press

You will make:

• Silver Earrings
• Silver Pendant
• Ring with stone setting
• Pendant with stone setting
