Introduction to Silversmithing

10 Week Evening Course (25 hours)

With: Vannetta Seecharran MFA PGCE

Silversmithing is the technique of manipulating silver into a particular form using a variety of tools to create functional or decorative objects.

You will learn: how to use various silversmithing hammers and stakes to stretch and shape metal. You will also learn how to anneal and solder silver. You will then use these skills to design and make a set of Cappuccino spoons.

Suitable for: This course is suitable for anyone as no previous experience is required. It would also be suitable for those with some jewellery making experience since some of the skills are quite similar but the course still offers plenty to learn.
